Project: AFTERIMAGE
Inspiration: the moment that inspired the edits
Meaning: after the photo was taken, after the memory was made. The memory that lingers after you stop speaking to someone, like the effects of a photo flash that still lingers in your vision (in the field of your vision) The afterimage of a memory.
Definition of afterimage -
A flash of light prints a lingering image in your eye. After looking at something bright, such as a lamp or a camera flash, you may continue to see an image of that object when you look away. This lingering visual impression is called an afterimage.
Thought process
The way I experiment and the process behind my work is like going down a rabbit hole of ideas.
I think of a word that describes a moment that I want to visually create. Then I go into a rabbit hole where I find one thing that links to another and I look into that and so on. That’s how my ideas are born.
Palinopsia - is the persistence or recurrence of an image after the visual stimulus has been removed
Project theme:
The theme is around the word Palinopsia, I am using it to describe the feeling you get after you stop speaking to someone you loved and how they linger in the spaces of my existence due to their absence.
