This project was lead by Dr. Todd Haskell, who created this presentation. This was a 3 month long internship I did with Dr. Haskell in the fall of 2021, as a pro bono project for his company.
In this project, I was tasked with helping in coding the user testing videos, talking with Dr. Haskell about specific recommendations from those interviews, and talking about what fixes are within the scope of the client, and how easy they might be for the client to make.
I also helped in the competitive analysis of different websites, where Dr. Haskell and I conferred on the best practices and ideas.
All of these recommendations were first scored by Dr. Haskell and I on:
1.) Whether the recommendation was within the scope of the client,
2.) How easy the recommendation would be to implement for the client, and
3.) How much time it would take for the client to implement the recommendation.
This was an extremely helpful project for me to be a part of, as it gave me my first experience in working with a client and having to figure out recommendations based on the clients ability and scope. I also was able to get a lot of experience dealing with user testing, figuring out what to pay attention to, how to code unmoderated videos, and how to use similar companies in a competitive analysis to inform our design recommendations.
