DESCRIPTION

For this assignment we were tasked with analysing an interior we visited in London. I chose the LSE Student Centre. Angular forms found on the exterior are found throughout the interior. A large focus is function and movement throughout the space. Although heavy materials have been used, the space appears light - predominately lit through natural light. I focused on two aspects of the interior; the winding staircase that opens up allowing a uninterrupted view of each floor; and natural light, diffused through the patterned exterior masonry interacts with the interior surfaces.
