KSRTC design analysis

Business Objective:
•Book tickets online by making online payments to simplify the task and provide better user experience.
•Making the user aware of the miscellaneous services provided by KSRTC.

Change Drivers:
•Primary objective is to Book Tickets. Having two or more separate functionality serving the same purpose reduces effectiveness & efficiency of the portal.
•Optimize the task for the users & make it intuitive
•Rich user experience

Book tickets, print or e-mail them quickly and easily.
 
User Needs:
•Complete the process quickly and avoid incorrect information entry
•Easy to understand process
•Relevant guidance and instructions to complete the booking process

The following screens were recommended keeping in mind the personas, scenarios and the results of interviews conducted.
Map-based ticketing process which is already a part of the current design is adding confusion and hence the idea was to simplify it by merging it seamlessly with the generic ticket booking. But a particular regular user who exactly knows his/her journey may not find it useful to use the map everytime.
 
Hence, the design recommends generic ticketing process for the regular user (who knows his journey completely) and ma-based booking for people who may want to plan/ explore or are travelling for the first time to a particular place.
Moreover, filters to select the specifications for your journey add to provide a better experience.
Map-based ticketling allows the user to just input the name of the place he wishes to reach and the place where he would begin his journey from. The map will automatically suggest the best routes possible, the nearest KSRTC bus stops. The user can also save this map on his phone to navigate through his journey and direct him to the specifie destination.
Once the user proceeds with booking he will also be suggested places he can stay: hotels, tourists spots near his destination, etc.
