Lettering has always been an art form that I really appreciate, that's why I decided to experiment the inclusion of a phrase that means a lot personally - Perfectly Imperfect - with my illustration skills, and I really loved the result. The key to mastering the piece was finding the right balance between these two beautiful forces, by taking a more minimalist approach with the illustration to allow the lettering to stand out as well.
This artwork was one of the selected pieces for the first Women of Type publication, released in 2023 by Jess Goldsmith.
Women of Type features the work of more than 130 women and nonbinary artists from over 20 countries across 5 continents, as a creative collaboration to celebrate letters, colors, and the power of the written word. Jess Goldsmith published this curation together as a source of inspiration, empowerment, and affirmation. This book is filled with artistic beauty and should make you smile.
